HELP build a better future

School Sponsorship

We support the schooling of 277 elementary, junior and senior high school, and college students. At the beginning of the school year, we provide the elementary student with new shoes, a school uniform, a school bag, an umbrella, and a weekly allowance while school is in session. For the junior and senior high school students, we pay their annual tuition fees. In 2014, we initiated a competitive college scholarship program for the outstanding students who graduate from our high school program. 62 students are currently receiving college scholarships. When required we also provide “After School Tutoring” focusing on reading, math, and values. Although we have yet to achieve the goal of a 0% dropout rate we have significantly reduced the dropout rate.

Over the years we have discovered that our sponsors get the most “bang for their buck” by

sponsoring older students, so we are phasing out our elementary sponsorship program. Our

biggest success has been with grades 7-12 and college students. The cost for junior high and

senior students remains at P 5,000.00 and many sponsors donate an extra P 500 to P 1,000 for

Christmas and Birthday gifts. The cost of sponsoring a college student is P 25, 000/year except

for engineering where the cost is P 50,000/year. Currently we are sponsoring 247 students—5

elementary, 180 high school, 62 college students.

Our efforts to support the education of college students pay extra dividends. In 2018, in

partnership with CITE (Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise) based in Cebu, we

initially enrolled 8 engineering students. CITE is an institution committed to provide training in

technology skills and entrepreneurship, values formation, and social services to the less

privileged youth, their families, the local community and the industrial sector of Visayas and

Mindanao. In June 2016, CITE opened its Diploma in Engineering Technology leading to a

Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship. The graduates are guaranteed a technical job following

graduation and for the last 1 ½ years of schooling, they will be paid for on-the-job training. Last

November 21, 2022, we attended the graduation of 9 of our engineering tech students. They all

were offered immediate employment from international companies based in the Philippines.
