The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is consistently providing livelihood trainings especially to the low income mothers. They have conducted several trainings and workshops namely Cooking Banana Chips; Slipper Making; Meat and Food Processing; and Investment Opportunity seminar on cacao to name a few.
Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is consistently providing livelihood trainings especially to the low income mothers. They have conducted several trainings and workshops namely Cooking Banana Chips; Slipper Making; Meat and Food Processing; and Investment Opportunity seminar on cacao to name a few.
In every feeding program that we conduct in areas with a high malnutrition rate, the Department of Health always collaborates with us especially in identifying the malnourished children. They also provide us dental and medical kits for distribution after the health classes. After the activity, in cooperation with the Barangay Health Nurse, the children’s health status, weight, are being consistently monitored until they reach their normal weight.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development has a program called Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4 Ps) which means bridging program for the Filipino family. This program provides the poorest of the poor with social assistance and social development. BigHoop Charitable Institution is one of the partners which shares the same goal of eradicating poverty in the country through providing health and education assistance. Through this project, DSWD has identified quite a number of our beneficiaries who needed additional assistance and provided them with sacks of rice for their small business operations.
One of the greatest gifts that we received in 2014 were two donations to drill a water well and construct potable water system for our agricultural projects, but more importantly for the residents of San Isidro, Talakag Bukidnon. Prior to the water system, we could not initiate our swine program and the residents of San Isidro had to fetch water from their houses. The generous donations from Rotary International District 5670, United Charitable, and Hastings Sunrise Rotary Club of Hastings, Nebraska made this invaluable water system possible.
